Need help with meals for DS..

I'm sorry because I know this has been asked before many times, but DS really needs to be on table food completely now. Babyfood just isn't doing it and since he doesn't really take formula anymore (maybe 8oz a day) I need to get some ideas!

So far he has tried pancakes, mini waffles, grilled cheese, mac & cheese, ziti, pizza, bread and things of that nature.

How do you plan your DC's meals? And what do you give them?

TIA!

Re: Need help with meals for DS..

Emma's still content with the baby food, but I gave her cottage cheese yesterday. She seemed to like it. I will probably do that with some fruit for lunch tomorrow. It has protein, which is good. She likes chicken nuggets too but beyond that, I'm clueless Chat Icon I was thinking maybe low sodium alphabet soup?

Oh, I bought the EB's cookie bars today and she was gagging..and they are soo sticky!!

Caden HATES babyfood. Him being 7+ months it has made things a bit difficult b/c he wont eat anything that is babyfood consistancy unless its sweet so that means no oatmeal or cottage cheese or anything like that. But here is what he has been eating....

All the following are in baby sized pieces

Tofu cubes (I just slice it and heat it up in chicken broth for flavor)
chicken cooked in broth
Chop meat
Applesauce
Baby Bananas
Cut up bananas
Canned fruit cut up..peaches, mango, mandarin oranges are favorites
Soft Cheese
Toast w/butter or cream cheese
PicklesChat Icon
Pasta cooked in chicken broth for flavor
Canned Peas, Green Beans, Carrots etc
Cut up corn muffins or bran muffins
Meatloaf or Meatballs
Wholewheat pancakes (we do dip in Maple SyrupChat Icon )
Greak Yogurt (its thicker than regular)
Puffs (of course)
I bought low sugar preserves for waffles and toast too.
Apple Butter on toast
Mac & Cheese made with kid sized pasta (FM me for recipe)
Ham (low sodium)
Low sodium Turkey Breast (cold cuts)
Cream Cheese and Jelly sandwiches

Im sure there is more but I cant think of any right this second.

noah devoured them and screamed for more.

He ended up eating two , they have a lot of sugar in them though so careful what you feed them with.

I was looking at the sugar content on them, and I was honestly shocked that a Stage 2 jar of bananas has more sugar than one of those. I about fell over when I saw the sugar content of Stage 3 bananas!

Re: Need help with meals for DS..

We've done all that you mentioned.

A favorite of mine (and quite easy) a can of soup. I made a can of vegetable soup, strained out the veggies and gave it to Troy, he LOVED it! I can't wait to buy more!

I also bought little cans of veggies, like peas and carrots and sliced carrots. I plan to give him 1/4 or 1/2 a can with maybe some broken up chicken fingers. He LOVES chicken.

I am still trying to figure this all out too. Mostly trial and error...fortunately, this boy LOVES everything so far!
