Does anyone shop at K-mart anymore?
I went there after work today b/c they seem to be the only store around that sells Sinutab.
so I figured... as long as I'm here, I'll pick up a few drug store items we need. I was pretty surprised at the prices. I have gotten things cheaper at Stop & Shop - which is not a place you'll find any bargains on drugs store related items.
k-mart was totally empty, as it has been the last few times I went there (again for the Sinutab). I just wonder how they manage to survive

Not to sound like a snob but I refuse to go into the one in Sayville/Bohemia. There is a class of people in there that leaves something to be desired. No other store in that shopping center is like that.

i didnt know there was still Kmart on LI! the only one i used to go to was the one in levittown and it closed a while back.
im a target girl myself.

I was hoping that would happen when the k-mart in Levittown closed. but somehow, this store managed to stay open

I do not frequent K-Mart but everytime I go into one it is empty. This is probably the reason they keep closing stores. When there was one in Levittown, my parents woudl shop there, but once that one closed they never went to one again.

Nope. Not since it closed in Syosset and a Home Depot Opened a few years ago. I did buy my bathroom stuff there, like towels and rugs, but that's about it. I'm defintely a Target girl now.

k-mart and wal-mart totally disgust me. there are no open k-marts by me anymore and the two wal-marts i've been too are so messy and gross i won't go in there no matter how much $$ i could save.

Agreed. . . My Mom and I were in search of shirt boxes before X-mas (since almost all stores seemed to be conviently out of them). So I suggested we go to K-mart (sayville/bohemia) thinking they may have them. We we felt the the same way from the other shoppers walking around to the people who worked there. Greasy, disheveled people.

There is a K mart close to where we live...but I agree, their prices on stuff like shampoo, etc are really high! I find it cheaper at CVS!
I hope they close the one by us and put something useful in there!

That one is horrible and so is the one in West Babylon... I went in there about a month ago and needed a shower after I left... It was gross and run down.

there was a kmart in middle island that closed about two years ago, I sometimes went there to pick stuff up, the store was outdated but it was always clean & EMPTY except for the employees who were on par with target or walmart employees IMO.
There is a huge SuperKMart in Bridgehampton & its busy a lot because you can get things there that you just can't get anywhere out there(unless you schlep to riverhead) And frankly there isn't any place else out there that al ot of the real working people can afford to shop at. I think it will be the last one on LI to close.
In the last year or so I rarely buy from any of the target/kmart type stores. I'll pay more & try to shop with locally based businesses.

About the k-mart by me, I always tell DH that I feel as though I am losing IQ points just for walking in the door.
Needless to say, I don't go there unless I HAVE to...and that is NOT very often.

I went into kmart in sayville last week--grossssssssssssss
Kkmart was bought out by Sears.
Everything in there is disgusting-never again.
I like Target too.

Every time I go in there- I swear I never will again. Once in a blue moon I'll run in for something because it's close.
You're right though- they are more expensive than Target, Wal-Mart and Supermarkets.
Most of their employees are sloooow and not too bright also.
