anyone here crochet?

Years ago a friend taught me one stitch. I started a blanket and never finished it and would really like to now learn more stitches. Anyone here want to do something similar to the "knitting" club?

Re: anyone here crochet?

I only know the basic. I never really got into it. Sometimes I wish I could do more. I have some cute patterns to do bags, etc..

I am just learning how to crochet, but I would really like to do something like a knitting club.

I'm just starting out, also.

My problem is that I'm in NYC metro.

Driving is not my favorite, but I would take the LIRR.

Hiya! I'm Jeri, I'm usually on the TTC board, but I love crafty stuff... I'm an AC Moore-aholic.

I've been crocheting since I was 9, and I still only know a few stitches... I made one up for a baby blanket 6 months back and it looked so cool... if only I could remember how to do it...

I've never posted on Crafts before, but if you'll let me I'd love to sit around and crochet! I live in North Massapequa.

Re: anyone here crochet?

Im interested, my aunt taught me the single and double stitch, im would love to learn other stitches.. I have so many double stitch blankets for my dd, i would love to make a really pretty one. I tried a book and the directions look like another language to me.

I also have been trying to teach myself knitting by book and no success.

My mother knew all this stuff, and now shes passed on. Wish I had an interest in learning before.

Re: anyone here crochet?

why don't the crocheters just come to the knitting meeting?

I do both... I taught myself how to crochet then moved on to knitting. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does both.

Re: anyone here crochet?

I learned the stitches I know from a book I picked up and believe it or not... youtube videos. I was having a problem understanding directions for a granny square and I found some great vidoes that show you exactly what the written directions tell you... I guess I am a visual learner.

I would be interested in a crocheting club. I live near exit 62 on the LIE

Re: anyone here crochet?

I'm here and would like to try to get something together. I know that there is a Borders in Syosset that allows groups to meet in the cafe, maybe we can put something together there.

That sounds good. I know someone from LIW that may also be interested in joining us. Once we decide a date I will let her know.
