SLR Help
I dont understand too much about Cameras, but Know I want a better one, so I was thinking of getting an SLR...
I need a cheapo one...Under $500.
Whats the deal with lens? I dont understand what lens to get etc?
And what do you reccomend?
Anything to "look" for?

u should be careful when purchasing a camera online, there are a lot of scammer sites based in brooklyn, and they are constantly creating new sites when their old ones have been discovered to be fake. the rule is, if it's looks too good to be true, then it's probably a scam!
edit: you can go to www.resellerratings.com to check if a site is legit or not.

The link is for the D40 not D40x. Still cheap!
I would recommend buying for a "reputable" place. I bought mine online at a great price.
I have the D40x and love it. The D40 is about $200 cheaper or about.

I have a Nikon D40X... with 2 Nikon Lenses, flash, 4gb card and a bunch of other extras for about 800...
I bought it from a camera store on ebay and everything was legit...(the deal *seemed* too good to be true)
LOVE my camera

i bought mine from one of those shops and it turned out to be totally legit... got a great price

I bought the Nikon d40x, the 18-135 lens. Love it! 
ETA: Don't forget you'll need a padded bag, and i'd get a UV filter, too.
