Flying during second trimester -

So I haven't talked to the doc yet, but from your experience is flying during the second trimester a yay or nay?

DH is receiving a 5 day vacation to Aruba in April (I'll be somewhere around 24w).....free - all inclusive. It would be a great "babymoon" since it wont cost us a thing but I am petrified of being so far away from my doctor.

What do you guys think? I'd really hate to pass up the opportunity.

My Dh and I went to California when I was about 23 weeksin Sept. We had planned to go for our anniversary in Nov, but I would have been too far along. The only thing that happened to me was that my legs and ankles swelled from the plane ride. Try to get up and walk around if you can and enjoy yourself.

I say go. Have a good time! If you are worried about it, ask your doctor. If there are no complications in your pregnancy I dont see why you shouldnt go

I flew to St. Maarten when i was 28-29 weeks and it was fine. I say go for it!

im flying tomorrow to florida with a toddler and im 28 weeks.

I'm a former flight attendant and flew well into my second trimester.

I read flying was fine until the 3rd tri.

we flew to vegas when i was 22 weeks, it was fine

I went on a cruise during my second tri and flew to NY for Thanksgiving during my third tri. My doctor said it was fine. It seems like a great opportunity for a vacation.

DH and I went on our honeymoon while I was in my 2nd trimester. We flew to Aruba....no problems except swollen feet which happened during the whole trip due to the heat

wow, that's awesome! my doctor told me 2nd trimester was fine (i'm in the 3rd now and never took the opportunity ).

You can go @ 24 weeks. We are going away when I will be 25 weeks to Miami and a cruise. I need a doctors note for the cruise though.
Aruba is really nice! You shou;ld definitely take advantage of that trip especially if it is free!

Ask your doc only because everyone has diff opinions.... But my doc was cool with me flying until 34 weeks....

My OB said I can fly until 32 weeks. I travel all of the time for work and will be flying consecutive weeks until I'm 27 weeks. Then I have four more round trips over the next 5 weeks.

Go away at 24 weeks and enjoy yourself!!! My babymoon is when I'm 26 weeks.

Same with me. Doctor said as long as I still feel up to it, up to 34 weeks is good with him.

I went to DR when I was 26w5d and returned when I was 27w5d....no problems...just drink lots of water and get up and walk every hour to minimize swelling...HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW...I was in the ocean and pool with no problems

i will be 17 weeks when DH and i fly to california, and i am so looking forward to it! i really don't think it's a problem for the 2nd trimester.
