I am a carrier for CF
I have been stressing since day one about this pregnancy. I had a miscarriage last time, and I have been spotting and cramping so far.
And now I just found out I am a carrier for CF. My DH has to be tested so we won't know anything more for a week or 2. I just am surprised that there have been so many issues so far since we started this journey last May - issues that any person normally doesn't think about.
I guess I am just feeling sorry for myself and wishing that I had it easy.
Logically, I know I shouldn't worry until we get DH's results, but..........

I too am a carrier for CF since I'm of European descent, but we opted not to find out. Whatever He chooses to give us is what we will have to love. She is our gift.

Re: I am a carrier for CF
Try not worry yet. I know this is hard to do but if you can you will be better off. I was having an amzing pregnancy in the beginning until I was told that my test results put me at a high risk for trisomy 18/13. I worried for a whole month until I had my amnio. Then I worried for two weeks after the amnio. Now I know everything is ok we are back to enjoying the pregnancy again. So like I said I know it is hard to do but just try to think happy thoughts and my prayers will be with you.

I had to think for a few minutes too about what it meant
I'm sorry and hopefully there is no use stressing about it, I hope all will be fine and nothing major to worry about. Best of luck and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Re: I am a carrier for CF
I was a carrier of CF---there are many different "abnormalities (this is not the word, but I can't think of what it is). Your husband has to be a carrier of the same exact one. This helps you chances greatly.
Sorry I was a little vague, but I really dont remember the wording exactly. I know it's easier said than done, but try your best not to stress. I wish they would do the husbands testing at the same time, so you don't have to go through the waiting process.
