Help for long-legged preggos?

Are any tall ladies having a hard time finding maternity pants that are long enough? Does anyone know of a place where I could score some that won't make me look like I am preparing for the flood?

The jeans I have now are from Target and not tooooo short, but I was not thrilled that I had to change my shoes this morning because you could see full ankle. I am only 5'7", but my legs go up to my neck so lots of pants/jeans look stupid on me and it appears that I do not know how to dress myself. Chat Icon Please help me look decent. TIA!! Chat Icon

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

Old navy and JC Penny both have tall maternity clothes. I would not recommend putting the ones from old navy in the dryer but the ones from Penney's are nice and long and didn't seem to shrink. The old navy seemed to be true to size but the Penny's ones were a little big in the seat. I had to order them online but it was well worth it for the extra length.

So your problem is that you have legs that just won't quit? Not such a bad problem to have. Chat Icon

My Liz Lange pants are super long on me (I'm 5'5). I got mine at a sample sale, but if you go to her store, it might be worth it to invest in a pair (nd then wear them to death). Also, the Mimi Maternity pants have a longer length for you tallies.

Okay I just saw a post about being too skinny...I steered clear of that one. Chat Icon

I am wearing Liz Langes. Weird. Thank you for the tips though, and thanks to those who responded! Looks like I will have to stop being lazy and actually travel to go shopping rather than being a baby and just using my lunch hour from work.

Not the Liz Lange from Target, though. Those run shorter. Her pants from her main line usually run longer (unless I'm just stumpy!).

I'm 5'8" but not in maternity pants yet. My friend just had her baby and swore by the Lucky Brand maternity jeans. She wore them from month 4 on! She is just a little shorter than me, about 5'7".Luck Maternity Jeans

I am 5'8" and bought the old navy tall, but they were too long, unless I wear heels. Something to keep in mind is you may not want to wear heels towards the end. So, I wound up being find in reg length.

I swear by Citizens of Humanity maternity jeans...I'm 5'8" and they were the only ones long enough for me to wear with heels! Pricey but well worth it! I didn't feel frumpy in them at all!

I have the same problem. I'm 5'7 also and have very long legs. My other problem is finding them small enough to fit. I'm still wearing my regular clothes but who knows how long that will last.

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

This is the story of my life!!

JCPenney is the only place that I found long lengths long enough for less than $200 a pop.

Gap Maternity long lengths are BS, which is very disappointing because their non-maternity jeans have always been my life saver.

Occasionally I stumbled across a pair long enough in Motherhood, but that was rare. Don't even bother with Mimi... I had a sales girl ARGUE with me about whether the pants would be long enough. She was 5'4" and never even tried on a long length in her life. Chat Icon

Hope that helps!!

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

We'll I'm 6'2 and have not found anything long enough for me unless I want to spend $200 for a pair of sevens or citizens. I still try and get in my regular sevens and citizens but of course I have the rubberband on them and then the bella band which really doesn't work. I also just got a pair of Lucky maternity jeans from Century and as I thought they were long enough in the fitting room when I finally wore them I didn't like them at all. I'll try JC Penney but don't know if they will make me happy, are the jeans there stylish. I would love to just wear a maternity seven or citizen for the rest of my pregnancy but hate to spend the money when I obviously won't be wearing them after birth... does anyone know if there's anyplace that would have them on sale.

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

I had to cut off about a foot from my Citizens at 5'1 - I'd definitely try those. I *think* the standard inseam is 34" or 35" on them.

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

thanks for asking this! I have really long legs as well, to the point that I dont wear shorts, because no matter what size they are, they are always short shorts on me.

My other problem is that I find all maternity jeans to be so tight in the ankle area, like mom jeans, or if they are a good length, my thighs and tush look super wide Chat Icon

pregnancy is not going to be my most stylin time

Teehee...I agree. Gap maternity jeans come in lengths so you can get a long length and they aren't that expensive. You could also try Ann Taylor.

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

I am 6 foot and bought 2 pairs of pants in Gap Maternity in the long length and they fit, I bought one pair on line and the other in the store at Roosevelt Field - they have a ladies bathroom in the fitting room for pregnant women which I thought was great!

I'm 6'1" and generally wear a 36" inseam.

With my last pregnancy I purchased Gap Long maternity wear. They were on the short side and not to my liking.

I bought a pair of really long pants (37" inseam, but I do believe they offer up to 39") online and I can't remember what the site was!!!! I didn't bookmark it for whatever reason. I'll see if I can find it.

Also, Rock & Republic makes maternity jeans. They tend to be longer than SFAM or Citizens.

There's also a seller on Ebay that converts R&Rs to maternity jeans, among other designer brands: Time of My Life
They're authentic.

Re: Help for long-legged preggos?

I wore Gap maternity jeans and pants in long lengths (I am 5'8" and long legged) when I was preggo. It was the strangest thing - you could try on two pairs same color and style and the lengths would be different. So you gotta try on a bunch to find the right fit and that was problematic because the long lengths in the store are hard to find esp in smaller sizes. Also, H&M use to run long in some styles. Forget Target and Old Navy - their lengths never worked for me.
