Re: Ultrascreen..

It is done anywhere from 11-13wks...I just scheduled mine for 12wks.

Not sure about the gender - I think it's too early.

Re: Ultrascreen..

I was told it isn't as accurate at 12 weeks, they are still developing.

Re: Ultrascreen..

I had it done at 11 and again at 12.5, the baby moved too much the first time and they couldn't get the measurements. You can get it done from 11-13 weeks, but it's better to go earlier in case there is a problem. They don't know the sex yet, it's way too early.

I had mine at 12 weeks and the tech took and "educated guess" at the sex of the baby - but it's too early to know for sure since they are still developing.

Re: Ultrascreen..

I had mine at 12, its a longer sono cause they have to take measurements of the neck, spine and head. Then I had to get my finger pricked and they took blood from it, that part was quick.

Re: Ultrascreen..

I had mine at 12w2d. The doctor commented that he knew what the baby is but we are team green so we don't know if he was right.

Re: Ultrascreen..

My dr said I had to have it at 11.5 weeks! He even seemed a little disappointed that 11.5 weeks was on a Sunday! I didn't know you have that much stretch of time! (Mine is on Tuesday)

Re: Ultrascreen..

My Dr. said 12w so that was when I went. The baby was uncooperative as it was, so there was no way we were seeing the goods (or lack thereof), but I think it is too early to be accurate.

It's too early to be 100% accurate, but it's fun to seeChat Icon It's just like the level II sono. good luck and enjoy it.

Re: Ultrascreen..

They do it b/t 10-13 wks. My SIL was told she had a 70% chance of having a boy from this sono (not sure how they'd come up with the percentage). Anyway - it's a boy!

Mine was not a finger pricked test -- it was in my arm. I asked my Dr. before going if it was going to be the finger one (since I've heard on here it was) and she looked at me strange and said this isn't the pediatricians office

Re: Ultrascreen..

I went at 12 weeks. We had a clear view of the money shot and I was convinced it was a boy. Turns out, I was wrong. You really can't tell what you're seeing at that time. It's still nice to see the baby all moving around and stuff. It's so much bigger and formed at 12 weeks than at 8 weeks!

Maybe they were doing a different test for you? I got my finger pricked as well, to put the blood on a paper form thingy. At 6 weeks, I had blood drawn from my arm. Chat Icon

Re: Ultrascreen..

ok, my SIL just went today for hers and they found out BOYChat Icon She is a labor nurse at her practice as well so said they are very accurate. Boys have one line and girls have 3 even though it may not show 100% cleary it's a boy or girl you can go by the lines (whatever this means, lol)

so good luck and ask to sneak a peak.Chat Icon
