Labor spinoff...popping while pushing...
I don't know if this is going to help anyone but pooping while pushing is fairly common. The way you actually push the baby out is very similar to how you may "push" for a bowel movement.
Also, you really won't be concerned with it when your in the middle of it. If it does happen, the nurse cleans it up immediately and the doctors aren't even in the room yet because it typically happens at the beginning of pushing and the baby isn't down all the way yet.
From a btdt mom, they could be hosting the super bowl in your L&D room and you are going to careless.
Don't worry too much about the poop. Enjoy bringing your baby into the world.

I hope that if I do poop, no one mentions it. I'd rather be left in the dark even if I do.

I totally agree that you won't care at the time...but what about afterwards. I would be so embarrassed after the fact...lol...like when you go home.

I had no idea if I did or not - I actually asked Al about it a few weeks later (I didn't).

Thanks for the info on poop! Yes, I agree, it probably won't bother me at all that day. I'd rather DH didn't see it, but he has heard this can happen and doesn't care about it. So if he does, he does.

I thought that I heard somewhere that they give you an enema when you go to the hospital specifically to avoid the whole pooping on the table issue. Now that I think about it, I don't know which is worse

Most hospitals don't give enemas anymore, though I suppose some might. Personally, I could skip the enema. It sounds worse.

If he's watching the actual birth...pooping is the least of it.

ITA! The last thing on my mind was worrying about pooping on the table. All you care about is pushing that kid out by whatever means necessary!
