The first trimester was hard b/c I was tired but now it's not so bad. I leave the house about 8AM and don't get home until earliest 7:30PM, sometimes as late as 10-11PM (but I have car service bring me home if I work past 8:30PM or so).

Re: Anyone work in the city

Commuter here

I leave around 715 and get home around 745

I'm only 4weeks and a few days, so it's really not affecting me. I sleep 99% of the time. The only thing that sux is that I'm constantly hungry.

I do. I leave around 7 and get home around 7. I also did with my 1st baby. The 1st trimest is the hardest. After that it gets easier -- less nausea, less tired. Hang in there!

Re: Anyone work in the city

I commuted into the city for my entire pregnancy. I had to transfer subways once too and I think all the stair-climbing and walking only helped me, as hard as it was at the end.

I stopped commuting one week before my due date. I didn't want to b/c I didn't want to use my vacation time but I was nervous since I had sporadic contrax and lost my MP and all that.

To be honest, the commute was harder after I gave birth. I didn't want to be away from DD that long. We ended up moving to reduce our commute time.

Re: Anyone work in the city

I work in the city, and leave my house around 7:30, get home around 8 or 8:30.

I'm 35 weeks and it really just got to me over the last week or so. Before that, I had some good days, some bad, but overall it wasn't so bad. Now I must admit, it's going to be a long 3 weeks till I start my leave. I normally leave work at 6 or 6:30, but I think I have to start leaving earlier now.

Take it a day at a time, and don't worry about it too much!

Re: Anyone work in the city

I'm 28 weeks. The worst part for me right now are the stairs in Penn and the subway station. I planned to work until my due date in January but I don't think it is going to happen!

Re: Anyone work in the city

I leave my house at 7 and get home between 8 and 9 or even 10.

I travel all over the country too, so the commute is cake compared to the traveling. This baby has been to 10 different cities already and I am only 16 weeks.

I take it day by day. I am hoping to work part time after the baby is here and some days from home. I do not want to leave my job.

Re: Anyone work in the city

I worked in the city until 37-1/2 weeks, all through the summer. It wasn't too bad until the end when I was just HOT and TIRED all the time. I just took it slow and didn;t do a lot at home ...

Re: Anyone work in the city

I'm 28 weeks and I'm out of the house from 8-7, unless I work late which I have been lately so it's been 8-8, and I take 3 trains to get to work. The worst part is in the morning when I have to fight to find a space on the train where my belly won't get crushed. Otherwise, I'm managing just fine. I just move slower than I did before.

I plan on working up until the bitter end too.
