stretch marks
When they start, what do they look like? Is it a small spot/line that just keeps growing or do you wake up and literally have a line on you?

Re: stretch marks
I am only 17 weeks, and I am lucky enough to have them! Sense my sarcasm?
Anyway, it starts off like a reddish looking bruise. At first, I thought, hmmm, maybe my pants were digging into me. After 3 days or so, of it not going away, it started to get a little longer. A couple of days later, another reddish spot, which kept getting longer.
I can now see vertical stripes on the sides of my belly button, and below the belly buton. I look like a cat attacked me.
No cute belly pics for me! ugh!

I agree that it is genetics. My mom has them too.

Re: stretch marks
I have one running across the very bottom of my belly (right above my groin). It appeared around 31 weeks. It looks like a thin red line.

Re: stretch marks
I did not get them with DD, I do believe it is Truly genetics, although, I did use Palmer's stretch mark cream my whole entire pregnancy. MY mom has none either after 3 kids.

Re: stretch marks
I agree with the genetics, you are either going to get them or not, however I don't think it hurts to put cream on every day.

Re: stretch marks
I got a couple small stretch marks right before I gave birth (they look more like scars than the red type lined stretch marks). I can't put any cream on my belly because whatever I put on besides Lever 2000 soap I get a rash. With this pregnancy the stretch marks are more visible and stretching more but it's really not noticable or bad for me. I honestly could care less. Scars of motherhood and I love it
