Wednesday's Gossip
Tyra Banks continues to shake up her life. Having moved to New York and found a new boyfriend, the talk princess and supermodel has split up with her manager, Benny Medina.
Banks and Medina tried to stamp a happy face on their breakup when we called to confirm that his Handprint Entertainment will no longer be overseeing her career. In a joint statement, Medina said, "Tyra Banks is a highly regarded artist, entrepreneur and producer, and I respect her vision for developing her own bankable brand." The statement added, "Tyra and Handprint Entertainment look forward to the opportunity to work together on existing or new ventures. ‘This is a great thing for everyone involved,' Medina says."
Several sources contended Banks cut Medina loose.
According to one exec at TelePictures, which syndicates her talk show, she had complained about his suggestions and demands.
"His perk list is bigger than hers," said the source. "Everything from private jets and votive candles that the staff has to light before he gets to the set. He forgot who the star was."
A TelePictures rep argued: "We have a good relationship with Benny, and we appreciate his contributions to the show. He will continue as an executive consultant on the show."
Though Medina had a bitter legal breakup with former client Jennifer Lopez, a Tyra pal insists: "This one is pretty amicable."
Some speculated that Banks' new beau, investment banker John Utendahl, may have influenced her thinking. But one of Banks' pals maintains, "John had nothing to do with this."
Besides the rich, 6-foot-3 Utendahl, there's plenty to keep Banks busy here. "America's Next Top Model," which she created and hosts, premieres Sept. 19. The new season of "The Tyra Banks Show," now shooting at Chelsea Studios, kicks off on Sept. 10. On Sept. 27, she's due to tape an interview with Barack Obama.

Madonna and hubby Guy Ritchie have been chillaxing at their 1,200-acre British estate. But one member of the staff isn't waiting for them to head back to London.
Gamekeeper Martin Taylor has quit after Ritchie broke his arm in a "play fight," according to Britain's Evening Standard.
Taylor and some local mates liked "to take the mickey out of Guy" by sparring with the judo-loving filmmaker, a source told the paper. But there was "simmering tension" after Taylor injured his arm and "Guy never apologized," the source added.
Taylor, who'd worked at the estate for five years, was already feeling hamstrung after Madonna ruled that shooting birds violated her kabbala beliefs. Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, had no immediate comment on the alleged arm-breaking.
Rosenberg did deny a report that Madonna may celebrate her 50th birthday next August with a concert in Central Park. She also dismissed claims that officials in Malawi are trying to get Madonna to return her adopted child David Banda.
"Everything's going according to plan," said Rosenberg, adding that Her Madgesty is working on a documentary about her trip there, as well as collaborating with Justin Timberlake, Pharrell and Timbaland on her next album.

Execs at the major bookstore chains are holding their noses as they prepare to peddle O.J. Simpson's "If I Did It." Barnes & Noble will carry the how-to-murder manual only online. "Our buyers don't feel there will be enough of a demand to carry it in our stores," a Barnes & Noble rep told the AP. A Borders rep says the chain will stock it in stores but "will not promote or market the book in any way."

Britney Spears backed out at the last minute from recording a duet with her old flame, Justin Timberlake - and the inexplicable decision last month has suits at her record label, Jive, very worried.
The duet, which was to be produced by hit-maker Timbaland at his studio in Virginia Beach, could have started a big comeback for the troubled pop tart, who peaked before she had two marriages and two kids.
A music industry source said Timberlake wrote the duet specifically for Spears. Although they wouldn't be together in the studio, his voice would have been mixed with hers later.
"Timbaland set aside a week out of his crazy schedule to do this - and then, just before she was supposed to fly out, Britney abruptly canceled the session and refused to do the song.
"It's crazy," the insider added. "She's looking for a comeback, and this would have not only been a huge hit, but something she could have opened the MTV Video Awards with and really blown everyone away."
Another insider said, "Listen, everyone is worried. In her mind, her album is done and she's done enough work . . . She's an easy target right now, because she's . . . sick. People like her are sick. It's like an anorexic who's sick in the head and needs help. She needs help. It's sad because what she's got - and we've heard it's like bipolar disorder - can easily be treated with medication, but she won't do it."
There's concern that Spears, now without a great song to perform, will bomb at the VMAs, which would have been her crucial comeback appearance.
As for whether or not Jive has wiped their hands of Spears, the insider said, "People at Jive have been with Britney since album one, and have an investment in her. They have faith that once the material is there, she will become focused and step it up. She's very competitive, but at the end of the day, it's hard. She has to do the work - no one can do it for her."
Reps for Jive and Timberlake declined to comment. Spears, who's embroiled in a nasty custody battle for her children, Sean Preston and Jaden James, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, doesn't have representation and couldn't be reached.

EVEN by rock-star standards, Motley Crue did some twisted stuff in the old days. "For us it was always, 'Let's set a goal for something stupid and see if we can do it.' We would put bounties out on stupid [bleep], like whoever could sleep with the fattest chick," bassist Nikki Sixx tells Blender. "And managers would start getting involved - one of them said there was a $10,000 bounty out for whoever could sleep with a mother-daughter team. Then that became too easy, so it was a mother-daughter-grandmother team. You couldn't pay me now to do half that [bleep]."

TMZ has learned that Foxy Brown is headed to jail, after a Manhattan judge ordered the three-months-pregnant rapper to serve time for violating her probation.
We're told that just minutes ago, Judge Melissa Jackson remanded Brown to the custody of the state, and threw her in the clink until her next hearing Sept. 7. Brown had been on probation on assault charges, but two incidents in recent weeks violated her probation, thus leading Judge Jackson to send Foxy to jail.
A source tells TMZ that Foxy's face was "priceless" when the judge handed down her decision, and that Brown and her lawyer had not expected to see jail time. It has yet to be determined where Brown will be held, but Brown was booked at Manhattan Criminal Court and handed over to authorities.
In court, Brown revealed that she is three months pregnant, and that she plans to get married.
