Mommies, what beaches do you go to w/your babies??
we're in wantagh for the week.
we are thinking of going to robert moses beach today with our little one.
any other beach recommendations? tia!

ToBay beach on the bay side has a great playarea and the beach is flat and sandy. There is also a restaurant there to get a snack if you want.

tobay is EXPENSIVE though, if u arent a resident of the oyster bay ($25 per car!).....but i do hear its nice there....
i usually just pack up food and drinks and go to long beach, neptune blvd....robert moses is probly really nice to go to too, and might not be as packed....

We go to Jones - Field 6. I love Robert Moses but no boardwalk and we bring the stroller.
Tobay is $$$$$ if you aren't a Town of Oyster Bay resident.
We have the Empire Pass so state parks and beaches are free.
ETA - oops just saw you went to Today - glad you had fun.
Jones is great at night for walking on the boardwalk with the stroller!

I take him to Moses. If I don't feel like going far, though, I take him to our town beach. It's the North Shore, though, and I prefer the ocean.

The field we went to didn't....DH had to carry the stroller with car seat and baby in one hand! I'm not sure what field it was, on the west side of the roundabout, so don't go to that side if you are taking a stroller.
Does the one at field 5 go onto the beach??

Hello All -
I have a question about Long Beach and Lido Beach - -
Lido Beach and Long Beach are accessed from Loop Parkway rigfht before Jones Beach right?
Now, Lido Beach is pretty close to the entrance of the Loop right? (on your left) Is there a fee for this beach?
Now Long Beach will come up if I keep going straight into the town of Long Beach and I can go down any side street (left) and park on the street. Are there any better streets to park on like close to bathroom, concession etc?

I forgot the name of the block you can turn down, but when we go to Long Beach, we are right in front of a concession and the bathrooms are close by as well....

we went to Long Beach this morning...Edwards Street is right at the concession and near a bathroom and shower....
we have summer passes, but they raised the prices AGAIN to 10 bucks a person over 13!!!!
It was nice and quiet today, but the weekends are busy.
we were also there from 9 am-12pm, it was getting more crowded when I left. lots of families.

you can definitely park for free, but it may be tough if you don't get there early on the weekends especially around places like Edwards and the like...today we were there at 9 and got a spot practically ON the sand...
and this weekend looks to be a gorgeous one

I used to get a pass for the beach when my DH lived in Long Beach. And it was only $5 a day pass, I cant believe its $10 now!
Now I have a Town of Oyster Bay beach pass, but Tobay is far for me. I go to the small beached on the Sound in Oyster Bay or Bayville.
