Ahhhhh!!!!!
ANTS!!!
What do we do? We called our exterminater, he said he can't spray because we are TTC and we have a little dog.
So he set ant traps and put them in places Peanut can't get to....but they are EVERY WHERE!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone have any home remedies that are safe for TTC/pets and gets rid of ants fast?

Re: Ahhhhh!!!!!
Our exterminator just asked us to step away while they sprayed, but it was safe and we have a little puppy at home.

So does ours.
We had a crawling infant and they put down stuff for them.
We had no problems, I think you may need to call a different exterminator - sorry

When we had sugar ants we put down organic cinnamon powder. Worked like a charm.

yeah.... they ALWAYS say that.... they just don't know. The manufacturers DO know, but always hide behind the fact their novel compound just hasn't been tested enough to prove it can cause cancer or other diseases at low doses.... These 'safe' compounds seldom are for sale for longer than 10 years... trust me, any poison that kills insects is VERY effective on people. No exceptions. Frankly, humans aren't as well-evolved as insects... insects can survive much more toxic stuff than us.
From a biochemical standpoint, most pesticides are structurally related to nerve gas, and act in a similar manner. (It completely inhibits acetylcholinesterase, which is the enzyme that stops the nerve signal to contract your muscles.... so at high doses, basically everything contracts and you stop breathing....) need I say more? (can you tell I'm a neuropharmacologist?)
the diatomaceous earth is a really good option. Its a fine powder that acts by clogging the holes insects breath through. Otherwise, it's chemically insert. Just try to avoid breathing it in yourself... becuase it may clog your lungs too... put it in areas that are away from airflow, and your dog....

I have seen it sold online. Do a google search.
ETA: DH just told me that pool supply stores sell it. I don't think it's dangerous to humans or pets in any way at all.

Re: Ahhhhh!!!!!
Boric Acid and also Black Pepper. I know it sounds crazy, but the smell drives the insects crazy...It is worth a try and it is also natural so it will not harm you or your dog!!
