Offer Accepted/Inspection

We bid on a house on Monday and after a little back and forth with the sellers our offer was accepted yesterday. We are having our inspection tomorrow morning. Is there anything specific I should make sure is done? I am new to all of this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

My only advice is run all the faucets in the house for at least 15 minutes including showers and sinks. Then carefully inspect for leaks. We had serious plumbing problems that the inspector did not pick up and ended costing us thousands.

Re: Offer Accepted/Inspection

Make sure to meet up with the inspector b4 the REA and homeowners arrive, so they can talk with you privately before he/she begins and you can discuss what your concerns are, etc.

Our inspector pulled DH aside before he started and said he would keep the report private and meet with us outside after he was finished and go over his findings. This way, he said, we'll know what he suggests before the homeowners can put their 2 cents in.

Pick up any area rugs and/or bathroom rugs to look underneath. We neglected to do so in our upstairs bathroom and when we went into start to paint we found that all of the floor tile was coming apart.

We are just lucky that it wasn't due to any type of leak, it was just neglect.

Good luck!
