Parenting Book Recommendations

So I was wondering if you had any books you would recommend for parenting? I have read a ton on pregnancy, but wanted to read some on actually parenting styles. I started reading The Happiest Baby on the Block. It mostly deals with crying & sleeping and the 5 R's to sooth the baby. Not sure if this will be our exact strategy, but will use what I learned. A good friend recommended On Becoming Baby Wise by Gary Ezzo and Robert Buckman, and Twelve Hours' Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old by Suzy Giordano. Do you know anything about these? Do you have any you would recommend?

I like Secrets of the Baby Whisperer by Tracey Hogg--it's really down to earth and practical, IMO.

i'm a huge fan of reading and preparing for everything and anything- my home library is filled with books that i've purchase on EVERY whim- if you were to look you'd see:

understanding Wood Technology- don't ask
Patent it yourself
How to be an Inn Keeper (good one, huh?)
Specialty Retailing for Dummies

now- why I say this is when I was preg I ran out and bought a bunch of books.. And while i'm sure they all have their good points and bad points (I did find the Happiest baby on the block helpful) I do think it's all a touch-and-feel thing w/ babies- they are all different and what works one day, won't work the next....
and I also was getting anxiety that my child wasn't normal and I kept consulting these books.. but I had to put them down b/c they were making me nuts.

so my advise is- read as much as you want but don't be lulled into a false sense of being prepared b/c you have no idea how your child is going to be!

I ran out and bought a bunch...but Happiest Baby on the Block is the one that I keep remembering when I run into an obstacle with DS
