I'm feeling extra
creeped out that new lurkers are watching us on here.
I know that it's a public forum, and that lurkers have been around for ages, but in light of recent events (and recent posts) I feel extra creeped out.
Anyone with me?

its definitely made it clearer (is that a word?) that i needed to get rid of my pics on my profiles....liw and lif....i got rid of all pics of myself bc i really dont know whos watching.....so i guess im glad it happened to make me really realize that this is a public forum and anyone is watching

Because I really don't understand the whole "I'm creeped out" thing.
If someone reads a post what is going to come of it...nothing.
There is really nothing to be creeped out about.
There are bigger things to worry about than lurkers on an internet forum.

This is my take on it.
You have to know that lurkers are on here. This is a public forum that we chose to enter on. You have to realize that people are going to read it- isn't that why you post it?
what would creep me out more is the people who post pretending to be something their not and then responding to the posts.
ETA: but overall I am not really creeped out too much by that.

Everyone is entitled to feel how they feel but I don't understand the mass hysteria here today. There have always been lurkers and there have been fakes before (and sadly, probably will be again). It's the Internet and a public forum so everyone should be mindful of what they post. As I said on another thread, you can meet psychos any time, any place, any day, anywhere.

For me, its about people I know rather than randoms on the internet...I post a LOT of personal info here and although I know of one person who knows me in real life (shout out Missrock!!!), I've seen pics on here of people I know from high school, etc...
I'm a very open person and if I know you IRL, you'll know everything about me...but people who "know" who I am...that's what freaks me out.

Ok, so it's settled. You don't usually answer in such an abrupt way, so I was taken aback.
I don't personally have anything specific to worry about on here with lurkers, but I guess what "creeped me out" is that this random person popped up and is referring to something that happened over a year ago. I'm not that naive to know that whatever you write on here is stuck in cyberspace forever. Sure, I know that. I don'tput myself out there and write specifics, so I'm good. Just more of a wakeup call than anything.

Google your screen name here or even someone else's and you will be amazed at how many threads from here pop up.
