You can only put liquid or gel-based items (if they are 3 or 4 ounces, I forget) in a clear, ziploc bag on your carry-on. Otherwise, they must be put inside your luggage and checked in.

I think a bar of soap is OK, but toothpaste, hand cream, body wash, etc. should be checked in.....I believe the airlines has that info on their website.

You can only carry on a ziploc size bag of liquid toiletries limited to 3oz per person. www.fsa.gov has a full listing of these requirements.

If you can it's easier to check them.

To be safe put all of that stuff in your luggage. I saw so many people get their stuff taken away when we went to mexico a few weeks ago

It's 3.4 oz. anything more than that can be checked. If you don't have them in a ziploc, they'll provide one for you.

If you want to check it in, I always put any conditioner/shampoo/gels/liquids in those plastic shopping bags you get at the supermarket and tie a knot at the top of it. if the container explodes or opens, it stays in the bag.

I always put it in the large really heavy zip-lock bags! That helps with any spills. I also bring extras to pack wet bathing suits, etc. for coming home!

That's what I do...then if anything does open or explode, it stays in the ziploc bag. I also bring extras for coming home!

I always do this too. Go for the big ziploc bags and not the store plastic bags. I put my stuff in bag from the food store one year and sunscreen opened up...it was a disaster!Chat Icon Since then i put everything in ziploc bags, sometimes doubled up.
