not working is overrated!
Ok, so I'm a teacher..."off" for the summer, but I've been taking grad classes. These two weeks my classes are at night and last night and tonight it was cancelled. I have no kids and DH is working. NO ONE is around to hang out with! I am bored! I don't think I could not work very long and not go crazy! You would think I would get so much done, but it just makes me so lazy being home! I would love to work like 3 days in a row and then be off for two. that'd be perfect I know I sound so silly, but does anyone else get this way?

I could be perfectly happy never working again. The problem would come from me being poor as a result

Re: not working is overrated!
I'm a teacher too and after the first few weeks (which I spend thoroughly cleaning my apt) I find myself getting bored. I go to the local mall to spend time but then spend $$ which I obviously dont make over the summer
Before I finished my master's I used to take summer classes and that was great because it gave me an opportunity to talk with and be with adults. Its very rare I have a good conversation these days thats not along the line of " sure- I love the Bratz/spiderman"
My IL's think we are nuts because we said even if we won the lottery tomorrow, we would not quit our jobs. We would still need to be productive members of society.

i hear you... i've been feeling very boread and lonely this summer. last summer i was busy planning my wedding and the summer before that i was in Europe for most of it.
Now this is my first summer "off" and i am soooo bored. i am grateful for the time off, and i've been taking classes and preparing for september. but it's tough when you're limited on funds, all your friends don't live on LI and your husband is at work all day. i am lonely too!

Re: not working is overrated!
I was a SAHM for 6 months. DS kept (and keeps) me on my toes, but, I wanted to also get out there and make some $. I took on not one, but two PT jobs. My first one is from 7:30AM-10AM and my second, is kind of a work from home sort of thing and I make appointments and such around my schedule.
