Not sure if I asked this already but-
I need recommendations for a pediatrician in Nassau....anybody have someone they love?? I don't know where to begin and I keep forgetting to ask my OB.

My friend swears by Dr Oppenheimer on Newbridge Rd in Bellmore. There are a couple of doctors in the practice, and she loves all of them!
We will be using Dr Meckes of Seaford Pediatrics. They came highly recommended to us by the 2 nurses that did our lamaze class at Winthrop. One of the nurses actually uses him for her children.

We just had out consultation with this practice and really like them. This is who we will be going with.

I dont know how far West you are- but my friend travels from Baldwin to see them.

I dont know how far West you are- but my friend travels from Baldwin to see them.
I'm in Franklin Square right off the Southern State.

I left dr Oppenheimer, because I felt that they just did not care. (He was my son's pediatrician for 3 yrs.) They never follow up with anything and often made me see a nurse practioner even when my son was seriously sick. I realize now that they were not very thorough either
I am now at Dr. Silverstein in Merrick. He is awesome. HE will stay late to see my son when he is sick. He even called lthis past Fri at 7pm just to see if my son's fever had come down. I got to speak to him and he was so nice, not rushed or anything. I love this practice so far and know several other people who use him and highly recommend him too.

OMG.. this was my doctor when I was VERY LITTLE... strange. I didn't know he still practiced!!! He was really nice from a kids point of view.
ETA: I had really bad recurring bronchitis.. like 3 to 4 times a year. When we left him.. I think because of change of insurance... the new dr. finally diagnosed me with asthma and treating that changed my life... so I guess I could agree with the above poster about him not being too thorough.
