What should I do?
I couldn't make it to work- all the roads leading to the bridges are closed
do I try again? this doesn't seem worth it

Stay home...it is BAD in Queens...its all over the news...floodings and traffic EVERYWHERE...smart and a good day to stay home..
ETA: Its starting again...pitch dark, lightning and heavy rain...

I would just stay home for the day. I would notify my job about the bridges being closed.

Stay home, why risk it. You will spend your whole commute trying to find a do-able hwy. Forget it, work from home if you can.

I would work from home-- talk to your boss and if it's imperative that you physically be in the office, try again in a few hours after it stops raining.
