my doc prescribed me..

valium for tomorrow (lasik). i never take anything like that, but im contemplaing it to prevent m from flinching during surgery!

opinions? im scared of drugs!

They gave me 2 xanex about 30 minutes before I had my lasik surgery. It was 6 years ago, but I still remember how relaxed I felt.

TAKE IT!!! Especially since you are having lasik...I would be very nervous...the valium will keep you calm

They gave DH Valium before his lasik too - I would take it!

The first and only time I took it was the day of my wedding.....it didn't really help me...... but if your Dr. prescribed it, I wouldn't worry about it....take it, it will just take the edge off.... GL w/your surgery

You'll be too scared to flinch!!!!! But seriously, when I worked there, Dr H hardly ever prescribed valium unless you requested it, or had a need for more correction (20/400 vision for example). You'll know tomorrow morning when you wake up whether you'll want to take them or not. BEST of luck! Take pictures of your self after the surgery, I want to see the plastic shields!

what plastic shields? what are they and how long do i have to wear them?!!!!

You'll get them right before you go home and have to wear them until your check up the next morning. Then you'll wear them for a week at bed. It's just to protect yourself from rubbing your eyes when you don't even realize. Really not a big deal. By the end of the week, you'll be begging to not have to wear them.

Tell Dr H that Bunny Jeen says hello. That is how he always pronounced my name.

They'll give you a stuffed animal to squeeze during the surgery to get rid of some nervousness - DH had a stuffed bunny!

I think it's a must. I had the surgery and I took it, didn't care about anything, went home and passed out for about 10 hours which I think you are supposed to do to help heal. Good luck, it's like a whole new world when you heal!!!!

It will def help you - I was just talking about Lasik with my MIL- DH wants it - GOOD LUCK!!!

my lasik dr. is one of the few who does not believe in that. i got through without it but there would have been no harm if i had it, i am sure.
