Do you ever think

it's to late to say sorry?

For instance, if you were treated bad by an ex would it matter to you if they ever apologized for being an a$$?
Or do you feel if you moved on, than there's no sense going back there?

Do you ever wish you had the opportunity to apologize to someone?

For me...Yes, I wish I had the opportunity to say sorry to someone.

Just curious if anyone else thinks about this.

Re: Do you ever think

I feel like if the apology is genuine and could be helpful to the situation then it can be okay to "go back" and apologize. On the other hand, somethings are just "done" and an apology will never change anything, but the person just wants to apologize to make themselves feel better. HTH! Chat Icon

Re: Do you ever think

I did have the opportunity to apologize.

I know that he was stunned when I did it.

I don't know that it made it ok for him. I felt better that I said something but not better about how poorly I treated him.

Re: Do you ever think

As a previous poster said..........an apology to make ones self feel better.....well that doesn't really do anyone any good.

But if that apology is heartfelt & sincere, it could NEVER come too late!!

Re: Do you ever think

About a year and a half ago, an ex found me somehow and emailed me to say hi and that he heard I was married with a baby on the way. He apologized in detail for some really mean things he did to me, and I have to say, it meant a lot to me.
On the flip side, I had hurt a close friend very badly when I was in my late teens, someone who had been a really good friend to me, and recently, I had received her email address from someone. I had felt terribly guilty for what I did for close to ten years, and I finally wrote her an email apologizing and explaining some things to her in more detail than I had felt comfortable in the past. It was one of the best things I could have done. We now email regularly, and I am so happy to know that I righted that wrong. It was something that sat heavy on my conscience for a long time.
So, for the most part, I don't think it's too late to say sorry ever.

Re: Do you ever think

No..I dont think its ever to late to say you are sorry. I would rather hear it late from someone that hurt me than never at all. Ive moved on from my ex, but to this day would love to get an apology for the way he treated me (which at times was pretty bad). As for me, it is very easy for me to say im sorry when i have hurt someone.

Re: Do you ever think

By an ex.....at this point I am married I could give a $hit about an ex.....by a family member I don't speakto/have contact with .....YES it is beyond late and I wouldn't accept an apology from them ever in my lifetime!
