This is freakin stupid

Fred's TV has not been working since at least Saturday. It's so boring there on the weekends since there is really no therapy going on.

I've been asking the nurses to page the TV people. I gave the nurses station an envelope full of cash (because that's all they take) to give to the TV people last week. Apparently, the didn't get it or something because another envelope was left yesterday for the same time period.

I left the TV company a message last night pleading with them to turn it on. Fred is going out of his mind..he's already read every newspaper and mag that I could lay my hands on. He was so depressed and bored on Sunday.

I just called the director of the ward to tell her what's been going on. I feel bad about complaining but I feel justified...I'm just so mad!! They have no other activities there and that's really the only entertainment once therapy is over.

I don't blame you for being upset or complaining. I would, too!!

I would keep bothering them until they fix this. Don't feel bad for complaining - they should feel bad that you have to complain.

Do they have wireless internet? If they do, perhaps that is something else he can do?

No, nothing else. When he goes to the sub acute level they have all kinds of things to do.

that may happen this week..you know the drill. Every week they re-evaluate to see if he gets to stay there longer.

At this point, I think he may be ready for the next step.

As much as the therapists are great over there, there are other things about the place I don't love.

He's doing well though...I'll update later or tomorrow with some details.

I spoke to the head of the dept. She said it would be turned on by 3pm today. I asked her to call me back, but I guess she forgot.

She actually sounded annoyed, but she could have been very busy.

I will ask Fred later if his TV works.

I haven't even heard from the hospital about whether they are extending him there.

for the most part things are ok there. hey, it's not perfect but what ever is?

It was just a rough day for him Sunday with nothing to do. The day before they moved his room and then Sunday I had to hang everything up on his wall again. They even left the clock I put up.

They have a full ward right now and before they didn't. I guess they are busier now than the last few weeks, but the poor guy had no TV for 3 days.

It better be on when I call. Fred is not asking for anything right now other than basic needs things like if he's hungry or thirsty or has to go..he knows the TV is working but I'm not sure he's been complaining. I hope he did.

Any new news? I hope they managed to turn the tv on...it's not like you are asking them to pay you a million dollars.

they turned it on according to Fred. I hope that's the case. I'll see later when I go for PT with him.
