Wouuld the doctor notify you????

Let me preface this by saying that I am a nervous nelly and of course all scenarios go through my head.
I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I went to the dr. at 4 1/2 weeks and he confirmed my pregnancy, spoke about dos and don'ts and sent me for the typical blood work.
My question is, if there was something wrong (like the pregnancy was ectopic, my levels weren't good, etc) would they contact me, or just wait until I go in for my sono and appointment at 7 weeks?

I don't have any symptoms that something could be wrong, and I don't have any reason to believe that something could be wrong, I am just wondering! TIA

Hi, I am about as far as along as you. I do not go to the doctor until this Wed, my first appt. I am so scared, don't know what to expect, etc. I would think that a dr would call you if there was something serious as opposed to having you wait three weeks. This is a scary time, I am freaking about everything - have not gotten morning sickness, etc. I just pray and hope all goes well. Best of luck to you, hopefully someone else further along will have more definitive answers for you.

If there was something wrong (especially an ectopic) your doctor would call you and have you come in earlier

i dont see why the dr wouldnt call you if there was something not right!!

If something came back wrong on the blood tests yes, the doctor would call. You are very early in your pregnancy - give it time symptoms will come or better yet you might be a lucky one not to have too many at all .

Most doctors have a no news/good news policy.

They will call you if they see something wrong.

I agree that unless you hear from your MD, you should assume all is well. But, if it would put you at ease, you can certainly call and confirm that.

We all had those fears at the beginning of pregnancy. Doctors usually only call if things are off. Can you imagine all the calls: 'Congratulations, you have a healthy pregnancy!'

I was scared because I had no symptoms in the beginning of my PG. No sore boobs, no morning sickness, not being tired, etc. But things changed. Who knew we'd want things to happen to us to know baby was growing?

I would think if anything came back to alarm your dr. he would contact you immediatly.
The office I go to has a no call is good news policy so that might be the same in your office as well.
Try to relax!

The doctor would call you if something was wrong. Also, if you were having an ectpopic pregnancy you may start feeling pain at this point. Once you have your first sono you'll feel so much better. I know I did! Congrats!

If I found out that my doctor didn't call but had test results that showed a problem, I would raise all holy hell. I am sure that my doctor would call, though.
