Another TMI Question...
Okay, I am constipated. It has been a few days now since I have had a decent poop. Sorry, just no other way to say it, and I'm starting to feel really crappy (ha ha).
I am eating prunes, drinking lots of water, using whole grain breads, eating fruit, and some veggies, but nothing is happening.
Any suggestions? Any magical foods I am missing? I go to see my doctor on Friday for my monthly visit, so if it doesn't resolve itself by then, I'll ask for more help. Just wanted to know if there is anything I can do in the meantime.

Drink LOTS of water Collace (stool softener)
ITA...I've taken 2 collace every night (200mgs) for the past, hum, 15 weeks or so (I bought the generic brand). And the only thing that guarantees it to work is to drink a TON of water (more than 8 glasses a day).
For added benefit, if I consistently drink metamucil every day the constipation will go away completely...but I never keep up with it. W/just the collace and water I am no longer uncomfortable, but still don't go that often (like, I'll go alittle bit 2-3x/week)

Re: Another TMI Question...
I take iron supplements twice a day, which can cause this problem. But DH makes me old-fashioned oatmeal every morning, and I've had no problems, thankfully! It's yummy & healthy too!

Re: Another TMI Question...
Thanks for the suggestions! I am eating the Activia, and I love it, but it doesn't seem to be doing the job.
I will ask my doctor about the Collace though, I've never heard of it. Diet definitely isn't doing it for me.
I've never had this problem in my life! It's really unpleasant.

Re: Another TMI Question...
I've been in the same boat for the past few days. I saw my doc yesterday and he said Mangoes. I haven't tried it yet, but he swears this works, and Mangoes are yummy as well!!!! I'm going to the store tonight so hopefully they'll have some.

Re: Another TMI Question...
I have been eating the mesculin mix salad everyday and it really keeps me regular. It actually had the opposite effect of constipation when I first started but now I'm "regular"

Re: Another TMI Question...
colace helped, as well as eating fruit.
but i have to say, even with those things i really didn't become regular again until second trimester. the high progesterone in 1st tri just slows EVERYTHING down, no matter what you do to keep things moving! hang in there, it will get better
