moms of two or more
Can I ask a personal question?
When did you know you were ready for #2? Was there a time that you felt it was right - or did you go by how many years you wanted your kids to be apart.
OR - were you never really 100% ready - I mean - are you really ever ready????
(can you tell I am overthinking a lot today?)

Re: moms of two or more
well I am not a mom of 2 yet but I am PG with #2 and I knew I wanted my kids close together and I went off the pill and got PG literally 2 weeks later... a little sooner than I had hoped but I guess it's too late now

Re: moms of two or more
I wanted my kids fairly close in age and they are two years apart almost to the day. For me, i envisioned it being easier being in the "diaper trenches" for a few couple of years as opposed to my first being 3 or 4 and then having a baby again. Its hard...I won't sugar coat it. But i love that they now are starting to play together and sit at the dinner table and make each other laugh. And #2 is way easier than #1 since you worry less, don't read the books page by page anymore and go with the flow. No more charting when they ate and when the pooped as newborns.

Re: moms of two or more
I wanted to start trying before DD was a year - I always felt ready- we decided to wait a few more months and got pregnant when she turned a year old.
I just knew I wanted them close in age - I also wanted to be able to stay home for a bit - so soon I will officially be a stay at home mom - then plan to get back into the workforce part-time when the kids are in school. We will see how that goes.
There is always a bit of nervousness about the unknown though.....
I had a really great pregnancy and delivery - and DD has really been a wonderful baby - i just knew I wanted to share my love again.

Re: moms of two or more
Mine are 1 and 10. As nice as it would have been to have them close together, I'm finding may advantages of them far apart.
My 10 year year old is such a huge help.
They are at totally different places in there life and I can enjoy it all. There is not too much jealously either.

Re: moms of two or more
I wanted them close in age. I know I was ready because my roommate from college called & told me we were both ready. The next month I was pregnant.
Seriously, I don't know that I was ever ready in terms of having a child - even up until labor.

Re: moms of two or more
i am a soon to be mom of 2, and dh and I really wanted the kids to be close in age. We decided after the 6 week mark, that whatever happens happens.
Of course it happened first time around. I really don't think you are ever really ready.
I have about 60 days to go, and its starting to hit me a little more now, but it was meant to be, because you wouldn't be handed more than you can handle.
