When are you planning on setting things up?

I am trying to figure out when to start putting things together and when to start setting things up?

I figured I would get the car seat installed at 36 weeks.

Also - get the bassinet to my house then also (it is a family bassinet and my aunt has it right now)

I would pack my hospital bag around 36 weeks also.

Have DH put together basically one or two items a week starting at 35 weeks (swing, glider, etc)

Do you think this is ok and is there anything I am missing?

That sounds like a good timeline. We did the carseat between 37 &38 weeks because we kept putting it off. The glider he put together around 36 weeks when we picked it up. The swing my ped told me I couldnt use in the beginning so I didnt put anything else together until he was here. I plan on selling the swing I have and getting a papasan from craigslist (dont tell chris Chat Icon ) He keeps asking me what baby items he can sell Chat Icon

It is a Graco swing but it is a basic one. It does recline but I do not think I could put a new born it even though it has the newborn insert. Maybe I will try it first. Luka did not like the swing at all and he only used it maybe 3 or 4 times. So I want to try to get more use out of it this time but the papasan looks so much more baby friendly.

Also check out the Rainforest swing...when I had my friends baby here about three months ago - it was a lifesaver - I felt like it was alot to stimulate him - that's why we picked that one out! Chat Icon

Our game plan is to get in gear this weekend as we approach week 36. I want to install the carseat and then make an appt at LIJ to have them check it out.

I want to open up and clean up the pack and play (and figure out exactly how to use it), set up a few other things as well.

I set up a lot after my shower, so 37 weeks and change.

I didn't take a lot of things out of their boxes yet, mainly b/c we are moving and they won't be used til after he is a month old anyway.

DH still has to do the car seat thoChat Icon I will be 39 weeks on Thursday, so maybe he should do that!

Re: When are you planning on setting things up?

I will install the carseat at the beginning of June and get my hospital bag ready.

I am going to start washing the baby clothes right after my shower which is on May 19th.
