does anyone know the difference between the snugride and the snugride 2? is there a difference?

i was told the snugride 2 and snugride 3 (buy buy baby store rep) that the difference is the availability of the EPS foam, the footwarmer and the head insert.

I had the same exact question and went to the Graco website and from what I researched....I literally compared it side by side....it's the same exact thing!! What BRU considered a "Snugride 2" other online stores didn't.....

Safeseat is supposed to be excellent-- the rep at BRU told me that it's supposed to be better than the Snugride. He said that after the Consumer Report screw-up everyone has been confused/misinformed....... At this point, I seriously don't know what to believe. I ended up going with the Safeseat.

That's actually not true-- the Snugride might have been considered "higher rated" (even prior to the Consumer Reports article) than the the Safeseat, but it was based on price and weight, but not safety. Supposedly this is the huge misconception. If you just compare them in person, you can see the difference in sturdiness, which is why I was always so baffled the Snugride was considered this "top rated carseat". In the end, all these car seats are safe. I personally felt more comfortable with the Safeseat, but the Snugride seems fine. We actually talked to our soon-to-be Peditrician about this and he was great at guiding us through this decision.
