my dad....
is never one to show emotion or anything.. i've never heard the words i love you or anything remotely close to that.....
but my mom was going through the bills and noticed there was another ING account and she asked "whats this for we dont need another one" he said it's for grace- so we can all go to disney world when she's 3.... it immediately brought tears to me eyes!!! he shows no emotion what soever... but this is sweetest thing!!!!

Your dad sounds like my dad. No emotions are ever shown. Getting a hug from him is a big deal and it's usually just a pat on the back kind of hug. I wonder how he'll be with his grandchild.

Just wait until she is born! My father never changed any of our diapers, never put us to sleep, actually wanted to put me in the closet one night so he wouldn't have to hear me crying (I was a cry baby). As soon as DD was born - soooooooo opposite of how he was with us. My mother watches her and he is retired so he feeds her, walks her around if she makes the slightest peep, checks on her about 30 times per nap to make sure she's okay, buys her anything she smiles at...grandchildren are so different for them. It's amazing to see them together.
