I just got back from the glucose test
And the drink wasn't so bad - it tasted like flat Sunkist - I think what made it worse was that I chugged it in about 2 minutes.
I pray that I don't fail this - because I want no part in the three hour.
I was wondering - has anyone declined taking the three hour test? Is it THAT important?

Re: I just got back from the glucose test
Thanks!!!!
I am kind of shaky now - and I don't know if it's because I was starving and they took blood twice and made me drink that drink -- or if that will have some sort of effect on my results.
Whatever it is - it is! It's out of my hands!

I think you have to take the 3 hour test if they tell you to. I didn't even fail the one hour (my number wasn't "optimal") and I had to take the 3 hour.
But I work in med mal law and I have a case where the mother didn't take the glucose test and it had an effect on the baby, the 3 hour test really isn't that bad and it's not worth it to not take it.

The thought of going without food for three hours makes me want to cry. I could barely get through the one hour without picturing my bagel with cream cheese.

Sending lots of good vibes that you passed!
I have to go on Saturday - not looking forward to it. My doc said it was a non-fasting so I can eat regular - yeah right. Definitely being good.

I ate those nutter butter cookies last night like they were the last things I would ever eat. I was making every little bite count. LOL.

Re: I just got back from the glucose test
Well you tech don't have to take any test - BUT - you would be smart to take it - as GD can have lasting problems/complications for both you and your baby if it isn't managed properly and you don't want to mess with that- so as much as it s*cks it is a test I wouldn't miss.
I was shaky when I took mine b.c I hadn't eaten - but I passed my 1st (I have to have two of them b.c of my insulin resistance - I am not diabetic) with flying colors.
