Re: How often are internals/sonograms?

I had sonos at my first visit at 8 weeks, then again at 13 weeks (had 2 that day- one as part of my regular visit and then the ultrascreen, which was a much more detailed machine. Then I had my level II at 20 weeks. At my practice, that would have been the last, but I had some issues so I have had them weekly at 35, 36, and 37.

I had my first internal at 37 weeks, though I think they usually start at 36. I am going to the doctor 2x a week, so I assume I am done for this week (good thing, that internal hurt like a b!tch!) but I think those are done weekly.

My only sono that was internal was the first at about 7 weeks. I had the ultrascreen at 13 weeks and then the level II at 18 weeks and I am done with them.

I don't know about internals, I guess I should ask at my next appointmentChat Icon

Re: How often are internals/sonograms?

Sono's depends on DR.

I opted out all all testing-ultrascreen, AFP, etc.

All my sono's were regular ones.

With 1st pg, i had one at 7 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 weeks, and growth sono at 33 weeks(i was high risk)

With 2nd-so far only 7 weeks and 17 weeks.

Internals with DD started at 37 weeks for me. I think with this pg i am passing on internals, they just made me anxious that nothing was going on down there. I went into labor at a fingertip dilated, so it didn't matter how much i progressed.

Okay, this is good, so not another internal until the third trimester if I am reading correctly Chat Icon That made me nervous!

Re: How often are internals/sonograms?

I had an internal sono at 5, 6 (to double check we were doing OK) and 8 weeks (when I switched docs). I had external sonos at 13 for ultrascreen, 20 for level 2 and 33 for growth.

As for internal exams, I had one at my first 8 weeks appointment with my new doc when he checked my cervix and did a pap. I had one at about 26 weeks when I was having stomach pain and contractions to make sure my cervix was still closed. Next week I will be 35 weeks and have my first of one every week until we're done.

sonos are not done everytime you go & each Doc is different. Ask your doc their schedule.
