I've been told by three different physicians that to some extent Huntington has become a "feeder" for Manhasset and LIJ. My real concern with the hospital lies with their lack of equipment, I understand that certain cardiac procedures and testing are not done there and are referred to NorthShore (this from a cardiologist on staff there).

Last month I had to bring my youngest for a CT scan and was told to avoid Huntington as there was not a pediatric ER.

I was likewise told to avoid Huntington for maternity as if the need for a pediatric nicu arose the baby would likely be transferred to a Schnieder's.

That said for smaller type ER procedures I have been generally happy, but my whole philosophy with hospitals in general is to go to the biggest and best and pray you don't need them.
