Inspection for condo?
Do we need to do an inspection for a condo that was built less than 10yrs ago? A couple people said it's not necessary, but what do you think?
If we do need one, who do you recommend (in nassau)? If we need to do this I want to make some calls today.

You always want an inspection. They can catch the most minor and major issues you wouldn't be aware of.
I used Home Sweet Homes, Inc. They travel anywhere and charge $435 for fll inspection, including termite inspection.

Re: Inspection for condo?
My FH did not do an inspection when he purchased the condo. And, we have never had any problems. I personally don't think is necessary. A house, no doubt. But, a condo? I think it would be at your discretion. Good luck!

YES! Always do an inspection. You never know. Its worth the couple hundred dollars! Also many banks won't give a mortgage without one.

I agree that you should have one done even if it's not necessary. You never know what they could find. If nothing, then great! At least you will have peace of mind.

Re: Inspection for condo?
absolutely get one! And make sure you don't use the company the REA recommends. We used one for the first house we almost bought that was great. His name is Alex -- can't remember his #. FM me if you're still looking and I'll ask DH for it.

My friend just had an inspection on a housse that was 6 years old and pulled out her offer after the inspection because there was structural damage. You never know.
