My DH's best friend uses it. It didnt help grow back any hair, but he says its preventing him from losing any more.

This is what my brother says also. This is what my friend said as well. Eventually he gave up & shaved his head.

Re: Rogaine...
A friend of mine's husband used it... There was a little bit of growth but nothing crazy. The one thing he did notice and liked was that it kept the hair that he had IN.
One thing, if you want, that does work really well is Propecia. Vinny noticed a problem with his hair falling out when he was only 16 or 17 years old!! So, his Mom (panicked lol) and took him to his Dermotologist. The Dr. prescribed Propecia.
The Dr. explained that people have reported one of three things happening: 1. They get a great amount that grows back and then stays in so they are over-all delighted with the product! 2. Some patients reported NO hair growing back but it kept the hair that they had in place perfectly or 3. They had no reaction at all to the product.
For Vinny he had #2... No hair grew back but it kept what he had (which thankfully was a lot b/c he went early) and has continued to keep that for YEARS now. He is 24 now so he has been taking it daily since he was 17. The Dr told him that the second he stops taking it all his hair will fall out lol so he will continue to take it until after the wedding (I want him to have hair for the pics haha) but once that happens- bye bye hair! I don't really care if he goes bald-- and I told him it's entirely up to him if he wants to keep taking them or not after the wedding. He is not 100% sure but thinks he will probably just stop and let the inevitable baldness take over lol.
Vinny has had NO side affects whatsoever. I'm not sure what the side affects associated with Propecia are but I know they are not serious.
Another option, although expensive, is plugs... They have plugs now (it's a surgery that they do) but they are so advanced that you would NEVER know who has them. I have seen some AWFUL plug jobs that make me go but then Vinny's Dad has plugs and for a WHOLE year while Vinny and I were dating I had NO clue (and I'm good at spotting that stuff!!)... ETA: Vinny mentioned it to me one day and I was like SHOCKED- I would have NEVER known and my whole fam didn't believe me when I told them!! ... So that's an option.
HTH!!!!

Re: Rogaine...
I've heard that propecia can mess with male fertility - that's how come my brother's doctor would not put him on it - said he only prescribed it for men who were older, no longer having children.
