We have an HSBC Online Account which has interest of 5.05%.
Wamu offers 5% when you sign up for the online checking/savings package and they allow you to access the account in the branch so that they is no delay in you being able to access the money if you need it.
i have hsbc also, they are going up to 6%, but only for 3 months, it's to lure the tax refunders in.

Kind of silly question-
I just opened an ING account- does interest accumulate every month, or at the end of the year? i.e. will I see the interest accumulating every month, or does it come at the end of a year?

so if i'm right...if i put in 4k by the end of year i will have 6161?
is that right? thats 2K of interest per year?

I HAVE AN ING ACCT AND LOVE IT AS WELL BUT I RECENTLY FOUND OUT ABOUT EMIGRANTDIRECT.COM WHICH OFFERS OVER 5% SAVINGS AND IT'S AS EASY AS ING TO SET UP ONLINE - I JUST RECENTLY OPENED IT FOR MY DD

I'm not sure how you figured that out.
But if you have $4K in your account, 5% is $200 divided by 12 months will give you about an extra $16 per month in interest.
Obviously the more you put in or take out, the $16/month will vary.
