Got the Mirena

hrm.. experience was.. different

The actual process of insertion was less than 5mins for me, start to semi-finish. As the doctor says my "Cervix was cooperative". No dilation needed

Sensation... painful Like someone is cutting into my cervix. Not pleasant. Brief but painful. The pull/tug part not fun. The pressure of the actual thing going in was the most painful. Yeah I sorta bit my lip to keep from saying "OW, d@mn it! stop it" But it didn't bring me to tears.

once it was over he used that same thing that our 8w preggo visit used (stick) to check it out. Sat there thinking how completely unflattering a position I was in..just imagine it.. that took my mind off things as he checked everything out. That took longer than the insertion by far.

Got to go back in 2m to be sure its secure. Took some super ibprophen when I got home and felt fine after an hour. Just feel bloated and sore. But not like birth sore so its not bad.

We shall see, huh?

I thought about it, but it just didn't seem worth it for me.

Hope you feel better soon and the positives make you forget the unpleasant parts today Chat Icon

Re: Got the Mirena

Let me know how you like it. I just got the paragard last month and honestly, so far it's been just fine! I had a heavy period this month for two days, but now it's back to normal, no cramping, nothing. I hope it works out for you because I have to say, not having to remember a pill everyday is fantastic!

Re: Got the Mirena

thank you for sharing. I was going to get the paraguard but after reading the side effects with the heavy, painful periods I decided against it. I have a verry light 2 day period now..I wasnt screwing with that Chat Icon Check back in a few mths and let me know how you are liking the merena.Chat Icon Glad it wasnt too bad today.
