<span style="background-color: #FFFF66; color: #000000;">Scalpspan> Problem
I have a terribly dry scalp> & a dandruff problem (not psoriasis - I did see a doctor about it)
Has anyone ever found/used/seen some sort of soothing scalp> mask? I've tried Neutrogena products, but they seem to just burn and make it worse. I've looked online via google, but most masks are more for your hair and not the scalp>. My hair is fine, but the back of my head is so dry that I scratch it raw while I'm asleep!
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. I did read online that lemon and/or vinegar could help dandruff, but I have colored hair and can't put anything too acidic in it.

I have eczema on my scalp>. i'll scratch it sometimes till it bleeds! and it looks like dandruff. i've been using Luxiq for years, but its a reactive treatment. So i put it on when I get itchy. It burns when it goes on but it feels so good while it takes the itch away!! you have to get it from a doctor.

Tea Tree oil is great for itchy problem scalp>. Just rub it in as best you can- let it sit a bit and then wash out.

Yes the vitamin stores should have it. I used to get it at the Body Shop too- but that was YEARS ago.

Ty. I'm going to check BS website. I could order some other stuff from there too if I needed to get to a certain $ for free shipping. LOVE their scrubs.

I use tea tree oil conditioner. I think it is paul mitchell that I got from the salon. It is a hair and scalp> treatment. It does wonders for my hair when I use it.

My DD had a very bad patch of flaking skin on her scalp> and I took her to my hair dresser. She recommended using this: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod2690023> I used the shampoo, the conditioner, and the oil. Target sells it as a package of three. It took a few weeks of using it every other day. She also advised against washing her hair daily for a few weeks to avoid drying her hair and scalp> out. It worked magic on my DDs hair. At this point we just do the treatment once every few weeks as maintenance.

this is going to sound crazy, but it works. Take a spray bottle put a quarter vinegar and rest water, shake and spray onto your scalp> before shampooing. Thus me it works and leaves your hair nice and shiny with no vinegar smell. Just make sure you rinse it out really good before shampooing. Also, when you wash your hair make sure not to use hot water. Let me know how it works.

They also sell tea tree oil at Trader Joe's.
I have used their tea tree oil shampoo but I feel like it is too granola for me, and doesn't get my hair as clean and manageable.

Re: <span style="background-color: #FFFF66; color: #000000;">Scalpspan> Problem
So I decided to
1) get the Moroccan shampoo 2) get the tea tree oil (I found it in CVS in the ethnic hair section w/the relaxers) 3) fill the Lidex prescription that is sitting in my desk on Tuesday (I left it at work, so I have to hold out a few more days!)
Thank you for all the suggestions :) I just gave my self a "tea tree oil treatment" - I slathered the whole back of my scalp> with it, and I'm going to wash it out in an hour.

Re: <span style="background-color: #FFFF66; color: #000000;">Scalpspan> Problem
Nizoral shampoo is very good but there is currently a shortage unless you get prescription strength or get some from another country on e- bay. I used to use jojoba oil and I am going to get some again. I would put it on for just a few minutes before washing. I sometimes sleep with the oil on my head but it does stain the pillow case (use an old one). You can also use a very small amount of jojoba to sleek the hair each day but I have not tried it. It's available in health food stores and Whole Foods and is very inexpensive. I used lemon juice this summer and it helped but did damage my hair. Jojoba helps the health of the hair.
I am going to ask my Dr. for Luxiq next time. I hadn't heard of it.

sorry just saw this! it's a foam. so you put it on dry or wet hair. just part your hair and put it directly on the scalp>. make sure you wash your hands immediately after and do not touch your eyes. yes its a prescription.
