FYI- Middle Country Library - Centereach Nature Emporium ( oudoor learning/play) is open...
Went to the Middle Country Library today for the kids to play inside and stumbled on a brand new out-door play area for the kids 
It's called the "Nature Emporium"...They have a bunch of different areas set up for the kids consisting of :
A Splash Area w/
a working water trough with pull chains and watering cans & a working pump well...Kids may get wet- go prepared for water play 
A Gardening Area with rakes, wheelbarrows etc...Plants to water
Music stage w/ instruments and scarves etc..
A shell table
Build It area
Climbing structure and wooden tunnels
A reading area
It appears to be Open Play unless there is a program going on (which are listed on the site for Middle Country Library members) Otherwise it is open for all 
The inside is very cute too for those of you who have never checked it out

Nope...It's open to everyone
I myself belong to a different library, and to my knowledge, most libraries allow everyone to utilize their childrens play areas ...Selden Library also has a very cute childrens area that we used to go to when my DS was younger!
They also used to have a special room that was open for Free Play on Fridays only ( seperate from the regular childrens area)...I'm curious to know is they still offer that
