Re: What made u feel better?

Hi and welcome!!

Congrats!

I didn't have that feeling but I am sure lots of girls can give you advice. I heard eating small meals, never let yourself get hungry

Re: What made u feel better?

The only thing I could eat in the beginning without feeling nauseous or gaggy was carbs. Rolls, bagels, anything bready. And definitely don't go too long between meals. Even if you're just snacking on something, like crackers or dry cereal... when my stomach was empty I always felt worse. My m/s just started to go away a few weeks ago so believe me, I know how you feel!! Chat Icon

Re: What made u feel better?

SLEEP

For me, that was the only thing. And even then I didn't feel 100%

Re: What made u feel better?

Congrats!!

For my 24/7 nausea I ate a snack every 2 hours or so - sadly only things with carbs helped me feel better from about 8-14 weeks.

For the light headed dizzy feeling I kept a small fan at my desk at work and sometimes drinking juice or soda helped.

Re: What made u feel better?

I didn't really have morning sickness per se- just a general queasiness at times (when my stomach was empty).

Here is what helped me though:

Saltines (LIFE saver for me!) I would munch on them on my way to work.

Mints or gum of any kind- mint flavor

Cold water with lemon

Lemonade

Lemon ices

And keeping my belly full at all times!

The biggest thing that helped me was not letting myself get too hungry. Once I was hungry, the M/S was awful and much harder to relieve. If I felt the tiniest twinge of hunger, I ate some crackers, jello, pudding, grilled cheese, bagel...basically whatever sounded good.

May sound weird but Big Red was the only thing that kept the MS and nausea in check for me.

Re: What made u feel better?

at 18 weeks i still get nauseous but haven't thrown up in a week. eating every 2 hours takes the edge off. in the beginning when it was really bad, Peanut Butter on crackers, carbs and peppermints took the edge off a lil bit too.

Re: What made u feel better?

eating every 2 hrs no matter how hungry i felt or didn't feel. i couldn't keep down a lot of stuff in the beginning, and my savior was often Pepperidge Farm cinnamon bread. It always did the trick.

Congrats and welcome! ITA with this. Of course all the carbs caused me to gain weight in the first tri! but it eased up a lot in the 2nd & 3rd once I felt better.

Lemonade. Lots of lemonade- the less sweet, the better. I also used those sea-sickness pressure bracelets. Feel better.

Re: What made u feel better?

There were a few things that really helped me...sour things like sour patch kids and lemons worked really well, as did some salty things like saltine crackers and pretzels. I also found that if I always had something in my stomach, I felt better. Chat Icon

Welcome fellow 09 bride Chat Icon

Things that helped me:

Ice water w/ lots of ice & lemon
Raw almonds
Mint lifesavers
Dry cereal

Make sure you force yourself to eat something even when you feel awful. A few almonds or some cereal always helped me feel better even when I felt really sick. Chat Icon

Re: What made u feel better?

Congrats! Everyone is different, so what worked for me may not work for you. I know how you are feeling though Chat Icon

I found that the following helped alot:
Sleep (naps whenever I could get them in)
Eating carbs (especially first thing in the morning, I kept crackers by my bed and didn't get up until I had at least two in me)
Lemonade and lemon in water - Something with the sourness
Jolly ranchers
Eating small meals often
Drinking lots of water
