I think it's great!

What about cowboy hats for favors? You can order them from Oriental Trading.

ETA: I did "Southern" food for DS's 1st birthday too and it was a hit. Ribs, pulled pork, beans, corn bread, mac and cheese.

OH thats cute-I will look on there. I got a great deal on all the party supplies. All of that stuff was only $30! And I ordered multiples of everything. I'd love to do mac n cheese but I have to make everything so my son can eat itChat Icon Definitely adding corn bread and pulled pork!

We did a big 30th for DH and did an awesome menu. Trying to remember from a month ago, but this is what we had:

- beef chili w/homemade cornbread
- homemade mac & cheese
- BBQ chicken pieces
- BBQ ribs
- homemade coleslaw
- homemade potato salad
- big green salad
- homemade baked beans
- jalapeno cheese grits
- chicken wings
- someone made a spinach dip and an onion dip
- chips, salsa, guacamole
- veggie tray
- hotdogs
- chicken nuggets for the kids
- for dessert we had banana DIRT which was DELICIOUS
- I made his b-day cake in a boot shape, it was really easy to cut into the shape and decorate

Obviously you can increase/decrease the menu as needed. We did red/white checkered tablecloths, ordered adult & kids-size cowboy hats from Oriental Trading; there are a ton of cute themes for paper goods.

That's all I can think of now. They can both wear plaid shirts and jeans, so cute! And you can ask guests (as we did) to wear western-attire if you want.

My SIL & I designed the invites, which came out really cute IMO...I can FM you the wording we used if you want.

I am ALL about going crazy over a theme Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: The link you posted is adorable...great stuff!

I was at TRU today and they have a rodeo cowboy line of clothing..but I think I will do the plaid shirts and jeans-maybe I can find cute cowboyish shoes and definitely hats. I'll crazy glue those things on if I have toChat Icon (just kidding)

Adorable... pulled pork and corn bread is a great addition. You could also do a southwest salad with blackbeans, corn, cilantro, tortilla strips, avocado.
