update on my still positive beta. umm. seriously? ..

So .. old news... I had a miscarriage just over 11 weeks ago.. .Yes, that's on the verge of 3 months. My beta is still positive.

Like.. really?? .. seriously?!

I'd really love .. LOVE .. to be able to move on. I would have loved that yesterday even!

Ever since the loss, I've been going for weekly beta checks. A few weeks ago, my beta was 14... the following week... it was 14... and my latest beta came back at 13.

*TMI warning* for anyone munching on their breakfast while reading this...

The most likely reason this is happening is because of the way the baby implanted, there's still a bit of tissue from the pregnancy that is just dangling in my uterus. Ick, I know.. Anyway, that's stopping the beta from going down. I am trying to avoid a d&c at all costs since it would hurt what's left of my crappy lining. Soooo ... we wait. I can be patient. I'm like a master at this by now. Of course I'm just basically chuckling at the irony of it all and the fact that I WANTED to be pregnant couldn't stay that way... and now I want the beta to go DOWN and it won't. Nice... realllllll nice.


Anyway, that's my piece for now. I've been on a little board hiatus just grappling with various ideas with the next step.

I'll be updating my journal one of these days................

So, I *was* eating my breakfast while reading this, but since you told me already, everything stayed down.

Seriously though, I really, really hope your beta goes down soon. You need some closure!

Wow! thats just crazy...sorry it is taking so long!!

Sorry Penny...I know your frustration well. After my last m/c it took nearly two months to get my beta down...and I had an D and C. Period came...still positive. It's when it gets down to those last few #'s that it takes the longest. This was also a sign to me that my hormones were still out of wack. Didn't ovulate for the first time ever too after that m/c. Thankfully, things seem back to normal...you will get there. I do understand however how this seems like a cosmic slap in the face!!! Why must everything be so difficult?

Anyway..I don't post much these days but as always I am rooting for you. I KNOW your happy ending is just around the corner!!! Good luck to you and hang in there!!

I can't imagine having to go through that after everything you've been through

Can you take anything natural? Like black or blue cohosh, or red raspberry leaf? I know there are uterine stimulants that help aide in moving along a miscarriage....

Thanks, I actually restarted acupuncture and he just did points in my belly a few days ago that's supposed to help. These weekly beta checks are so anticlimactic! I keep hoping it will be close to 0 and then it's just down by a point


And Jackie yes! CLOSURE is exactly what I need!!


Thanks ladies.. I got for my next beta next week, probably Wednesday.... I've been going every Monday but they told me to put it off a little longer from now on since it's dropping so slowly anyway. Ahhh the joys if infertility ... and my favorite line of the week came from my mom .. "Jackie, I think what you need is something that starts with a P" Ummm.... yea... don't say it .. just don't.

I hate the fact that you have to go through this still! There is something they can prescribe to push it off, but I can't remember what it is called right this second will let you know when it comes to me.
