Open-Minded Pediatrician?
Hi!
I am expecting my first child. I plan on vaccinating my child, however, do not want him/her to get 5-6 vaccines at once. Does anyone know of an open-minded pediatrician who will consider changing the recommended vaccine schedule to no more than two at a time?

How many vaccines per visit your child gets is YOUR call as a mother. Mine always asks if I want to break them up and I do say "yes", but even if she wasn't asking I would have made sure my kids get at the most two at the time. No pediatrician can make you do things that you are uncomfortable with.

Open-Minded Pediatrician?
DD has never gotten more than 3 at once but usually it's just 2. The decision is yours. No dr. can make you do more than you are comfortable with.

I go to this place. They don't give more than two. I have referred other people there and they are all happy. Small practice and they remember you and take good care of you. I love them.

My dr has never given more than 2 shots in a sitting and he always asks before he gives! He is in Garden City - Dr. Martocci

I see dr haleguoa at peds first pediatrics in Medford. I've split up vaccinations, he doesn't mind at all.

This. DS goes to Dr. Mariwalla in West Islip and I have never let them give him more than 2 at a time. One time she had a PA student interning there, and the student came in and noticed that ds was behind in his vaccinations cause I was breaking them up and told me that today they would be giving ds 5 vaccines, I looked at her and said, no your not, and simply asked her to have Dr. Bobby come in and he picked put the two ds was going to get.

We use Dr. Gensler of Pediatric Immediate Care in Lindenhurst.
I like it there because he is not pushy and they have great hours. I think they're open till 11PM 7 days a week.
I also have never had issues getting scripts written and they don't make me bring him in again to do them.

We go to Dr. Mineo at Branch Ped's in Smithtown, she is wonderful. Ds only got one vacc at a time. She respects our decision to delay. DS loves her!

everyone i interviewed was fine with a delayed schedule. they didn't personally recommend it but as a parent, it's only done with YOUR consent. you have to sign for what you want and give the OK.

I second Dr. Martocci! He only gives 2 and he is amazing! My nephew has cerebral palsy and chromosome 21 duplication and he is amazing with him. Without him we would never of found out what is wrong with him when so many other pediatricians and doctors couldn't diagnosis He saved his life!

Same here. He is one of the doctors at Bellmore-Merrick Pediatrics (there are two Jasseys - Jonathan and Louis - we see Jonathan), and the policy of the practice is to never give more than 2 a visit. I'm very happy with this...not so much because I fear a link with autism, but because I can more easily monitor for reactions to specific vaccines (fever, rashes, etc.), and just so it's not so torturous for my DC each visit.
