Re: Moms who have traveled to Hilton Head...
Honestly, not a ton. Although we go every year (have since I was 12) and now we go with DS every year. We still have a blast. There is a lot of beach time and pool time mostly. THere is an indoor bounce/playplace on the island (or just off it) that is new.
In Shelter Cove at night they usually have a kids show and fireworks.

Re: Moms who have traveled to Hilton Head...
We're going in 2 weeks. Like my sister said, we've been going since I was 10, it's not kid focused but it's family friendly. Beach time is the best time , Fireworks on Tuesdays (I think) at Shelter Cove, Harbor Town usually has a kid thing every night (usually a singer).
Outlets for you are fun
I'm going to look into this childrens museum.
Where are you staying?

Re: Moms who have traveled to Hilton Head...
*Gregg Russell has been entertaining kids under the live oak in Harbour Town for so long (26 years) he is now entertaining the kids of his original fans. This is a big tradition among frequent visitors. The children vie to be ''picked" to sing with Gregg and adults sing along to corny old songs. 8:00 to 9:30 PM Sunday through Friday (2008). Free. 843-842-1979. Seasonal. Gregg runs the Bubble Gum cruise on Thursdays and Fridays. 843-842-1797.

*The Coastal Discovery Museum offers numerous programs and events for children and adults, most featuring nature or Gullah culture. For a look at their calendar of events, click here. Be sure to take the kids to their Getting to Know a Gator" presentation, where they can hold a live alligator. Their new live butterfly enclosure is scheduled to open June 4.
*Shannon Tanner is a favorite of many regular visitors. He entertains with sing-a-longs and on-stage appearances by children. He performs a free show at the gazebo in Shelter Cove. *Nature and ecology are popular on Hilton Head. Gypsy offers a kid's cruise that includes learning to cast net for shrimp, pulling up a crab trap and shark fishing. Tammy Jane is a shrimp trawler that provides an educational experience. When the nets come in, there's no telling what denizens of the deep will be in them with the shrimp (schedule varies). Dolphin watching is popular among visitors of all ages. Kayaking can also provide a close-up view of nature. See On the Water, below. Seasonal.
Bristol Sports Arena offers a skating park equipped with ramps for stunt skate-boarding and in-line skating. Consideration is being given to permitting bicycles also. There is no admission - the park was built largely with donations. I think the above post says the fireworks at Shelter Cove end August 10 but I believe that is wrong.

Re: Moms who have traveled to Hilton Head...
OMG! Thank you for all of the info! My parents go every year also and bought a timeshare so we will be staying with them - I'm not sure where though! My dad and DH will golf everyday and we will be at the beach but I wanted other options. Maybe we'll see you there!

Now I'm doing research
I might do a pony ride and animal farm one day Lawton Stables
I looked into the fireworks, there website does say August 10 but we always go the 3rd week in Aug. (this year we're going the 4th week) but we see fireworks every year. I'll be sad if we miss them.
We are going 21-28, is that when you'll be there?
My poor DH will be golfing alone this year, tell them to definintely golf Harbour Town. (I'm sure you Dad has)
