Need help with eating rewards chart
Dd is 5 and continues to be a very picky eater. After feeding therapy (which we’ve discontinued), we’ve determined that it’s a mix of texture aversions and behavior. Right now, she’s motivated to try new things, and she’s ultimately working towards a trip to America Girl Place in the city.
My main goals are for her to eat any protein other than the occasional cheese and tiny smear of pb (can be chicken beef, eggs with yolk, beans, I really don’t care) and any vegetable. She will have the chance to earn the stickers for whatever we are having for dinner (basically benign veggies and ones she liked as a baby - my husband is not a risk taker) and things that are easy to whip up. My ultimate goal is for her to eat what we eat as a family so I’m not going to go out of my way to cater to her tooo much. I already do plenty of that. If she doesn’t like what we have, then she doesn’t get her stickers and she eats plan B anyways.
I have no problem giving her little rewards along the way, but I’m having trouble figuring out how she earns each “sticker”. Like, if she has 5 bites of each presented food? A decent child-sized portion of each presented food? Start off with a bite and gradually work it up to a portion? Make different amounts eaten worth a different amount of stickers? I’d appreciate any thoughts!

Have you seen the dinner winner kids' plate? If not, check that out on Amazon. Maybe you could use that so she has to get a certain way through the tray for a sticker. This way you can adjust how much of each food goes in each space depending on what it is but the rules stay consistent?

This looks cute, definitely a possibility! Thanks!

We would give DS a sticker every time he tried something new. Getting him to try something was a huge challenge.
Once he earned a certain amount of stickers, he got a prize.
He still isn't the best eater but, he's gotten better with age. Willing to try more things and will actually eat them.
