My 11 month old has been showing anger or frustration lately. DC will throw body back and bang back of the head on the high chair in frustation. Do you think it's normal for an 11 month old to show anger and have a small tantrum if not getting their way? Disposition is generally very good.

Yes! It's frustrating for them because they can't communicate or speak yet so they can't tell you exactly what they want, what is bothering them and so they get angry, upset etc

It only gets worse before it gets better. Chat Icon

So normal.

The 'terrible two's' don't start at two, they start the beginning of the second year. You're right on the cusp of it Chat Icon

Yeah absolutely. This is so totally completely normal. My DD is 14 months and does the same thing regularly. You should see us wrestling to get her into her car seat or to take a bath.

Oh my goodness yes. My DS fought every single night to take a bath for 6 months straight then got over it.

Absolutely! It only gets better... DD is now 19 months and throws herself on the floor and pounds her fists and kicks her feet. It takes everything in me not to laugh. Chat Icon

My twins are 11 month olds... the tantrums are insane. One even puts his fists up and grunts about it. They throw heads, drop shoulders, kick feet, scream, barf, you name it they do it.

Thank you everyone who replied.

Yes a lot of grunting going on here and head banging back of the highchair in a fit. As long as I know kids do it, I know this is not excessive, most of the time it's all smiles and laughter.
