Siatic nerve pain
Follow the birth of my kids, I started getting siatic nerve pain. I’m to the point where it’s constant, it’s causing my leg to go numb and it’s daily now. The pain becomes so severe by the end of most days I can barely walk. I’ve tried stretching using a hot patch etc. nothing helps. Is there anyone that can recommend a doctor to see about this

Re: Siatic nerve pain
I had this during my pregnancies too but the last few weeks I've had sciatic pain again. Same thing, very uncomfortable and numbness and nerve pain into my left leg. I went to a physical therapy place near me and had a "medical massage". It's made a world of difference and you don't need an Rx from a Dr. I pay $40 for 25 min. Worth every penny. Feel better!!!

Siatic nerve pain
Chiropractor. It takes a couple of visits but it helps so much. I had it all throughout my pregnancies and occasionally get it now if I move the wrong way or do too much strenuous activity. My chiropractor is the only thing that saves me.

Siatic nerve pain
Thanks! I’ll have to find one locally to me or near work and I can go on my lunch! I didn’t have it at all when I was pregnant. Post birth I’ve had so many aches and pains I feel like I’ve aged 50 years! Does anyone have a chiro in the port Jeff or plainview area?

Have you looked into an inversion table? My husband suffers from sciatica and it has done wonders for him!

Re: Siatic nerve pain
DO NOT let a chiropractor touch you!!!!!!!!! Take my story and learn from it. Follow the birth of my 2nd daughter I had the same thing happen to me. I went to many doctors and a chiropractor and had a steroid shots (helped for a while) but eventually It just kept getting worse. One day I couldn’t walk at all, not because of pain but because I could no longer feel my leg. I had to call an ambulance and they had to pick me up (so embarrassing at age 30). Went to the hospital where I had an mri and was told I was going to have emergency surgery to save my bladder. I couldn’t believe it. I was terrified but I was on my way to becoming paralyzed or losing complete control of my bladder because of my back and sciatic nerves. Please see a neurosurgeon even if you aren’t going to have surgery. They understand the spine and nerves better than anyone else.

Re: Siatic nerve pain
I thought I had sciatica but it turned out to be piriformis syndrome. There are similarities between the two diagnoses which is why I thought it was sciatica (since that's such a popular term...I didn't even know what piriformis syndrome was at the time)
I was diagnosed by a physiatrist and prescribed physical therapy which helped immensely. It got worse before it got better, which they told me to expect, but it's been a few years and I'm pain-free. I have continued to do the exercises over the years which keeps everything in check.

Siatic nerve pain
Just wanted to say that I always suffer from aches and pains after having my DS, who is now 3.5, that I never did before. I had a herniated disc (not sure of how it happened exactly) causing the pain. I saw a Physiatrist at Long Island Spine and Rehabilitation in East Meadow and also went through a lot of PT. I'd recommend getting a script for PT. I think it really helps.
