We always go at 6am. You can see the tree while it's still dark. We walk to Macy's and get breakfast on the way. We go in and see Santa and then go home. It's very pleasant and if you do it on a Sunday parking is free in midtown.

I know it’s not “the tree” but right across from Bloomingdale’s on 58th/59th between Lex and 3rd is a beautiful tree. You can walk right up to it and literally touch it. Maybe it’s the Bloomberg tree? It is very very quiet there.

That is the reason I am taking my DS out of school and going during the week. I know my Husband who has beyond limited patience so to make it a nice day for everyone, we are picking a week day.
we take my son out every year during school. I hate tourists so its not as bad. lol
