Sometimes... like if we're stuck somewhere & I don't want them getting bored & loud I'll give them the phone/iPad & let them watch a show or youtube. Generally at home they don't use it.

I actually find that DD watching you tube videos helps with her creative play.

She will see something done by one of those stupid toy people and then go in and recreate it with her dolls or Barbies.

She gets a lot of ideas for little crafts to do too and likes to make miniature things for her dolls- the other day she made a miniature box of Sour patch kids out of paper and a miniature bag of microwave popcorn complete with the CAUTION HOT warning on it. for her AG doll....

I asked her where on earth she got the idea for it and all the details of the box/bag and she said on You tube.

My 6 yr old & 4 yr old each have their own Kindle. We don't allow them on a daily basis- never on school nights. They do get them weekend nights for a half hour after dinner, and they also use them while we are traveling. On planes, long car rides, etc. I would say on average they get 2 hours a week.

Both my girls have ipad minis. We tried kindles and it just was not as good as the ipad. My girls are pros at the ipads. During the week they can get an hour a day after hw on the weekends I don't really limit it but after I've had enough I take them away
