Where is the cheapest place to buy? Is this excluded from most coupons?

Re: Elf on the freaking shelf

I have seen it at Bed Bath and Beyond.
I am thinking you can use the 20 % off coupon on it or the $5 off- whichever works out better

Thanks! Was just wondering bc I happen to see that Kohl's coupons wouldn't work for it.

Bed Bath is more liberal I think.
I didn't see anything on their site about it being excluded from coupons

We don’t do it... but I noticed the sign last time I was there.

It's excluded at Target. I only know this because I was looking at exclusions and couldn't believe that creepy elf was so in demand that it garnered full price.

DD has been coming home from school telling me that elves are going to everyone in her class house and shes getting so worked up that an Elf isn't visiting our house. I'm not usually one to "Keep up with the Joneses" but this is a toughie to explain away!

Our mistake with the Elf was that my husband typed up a note to leave DD from the Elf. So, once we started, we had to continue! We don't do a note every night, but at least 3 or 4 times per week. It's just another hassle! And, when we forget to move it! I've remembered in the middle of the night and gone downstairs to move it!

My friend told her kids that the Elf only moves around the house when he's with bad kids. With good kids, he stays in one spot each night!

Sorry OP, I don't have an answer to your question, but all I have to say to this is NOPE! This is one holiday tradition I refuse to take part in. Luckily my kids don't question or seem to care why we don't have an elf.

It is excluded from most coupons.

I ordered from Macy's a few years ago and was able to apply some things towards it.

But, I hate every second of it.

Re: Elf on the freaking shelf

And for the record I do NOT do anything even remotely creative or Pinterest like with my elf. I saw something on Facebook yesterday with like 400 different ideas (not exaggerating- there were over 400 pictures!) involving all sorts of creative things involving props, crafts etc.
For example:
External Image

NOPE! Our elf moves from one shelf to the next. By the time Xmas comes we are running out of new places to put it each morning.
Never in my wildest imagination would I have the time, patience or creativity for some of the stuff I see.
I am lucky if I remember to move it each night. Even THAT is a huge stretch.

One of the biggest benefits of having such a large age gap between my two kids... my 13 yo takes care of the elf for my 5 year old. She loves doing it (she does elaborate pinterest style set ups each night). I hate doing it (when DD was younger, I think I forgot to move it 9 times out of 10). It's a win-win situation. And I am officially the most pathetic mom ever. Chat Icon

It's the same price EVERYWHERE, even Amazon. I have yet to find one store that will accept coupons or offer discounts on any Elf on the Shelf products. It seems like they've managed to set their prices across the board.

I LOVE the Elf. It's become such a fun tradition for us over the years. I like to be creative and we always do a big "North Pole Breakfast" the day after Thanksgiving to welcome him back!! My kids LOVE it!

Re: Elf on the freaking shelf

We have a rule that the Elf does not come until Dec 1st.

I am not doing it any more than i have to.

Christmas season starts in our house on 12/1.
We don't have our tree up yet either because I couldn't bring myself to deal with it last weekend.

So tomorrow I have to remember to find it and put it on a shelf.

Same with us. Dec. 1. Crap, that's tomorrow. And I always forget where I stashed it on Xmas Eve the year before. I'm pretty sure it's at the top of my closet but I should really go check. There are nights I totally forget to move the darn thing. I'm gonna set a daily reminder on my phone this year.

I know. I totally forget it was tomorrow until DD said something.
And same here- no idea where we stashed it- and I thinking it's in the closet too like you said.
I try to avoid thinking about things too early because they stress me out.... so I slack.

Same I would never do this. My son did ask me about it when it was becoming all the rave a few years back and I said no he won’t be coming to our house. I said I talk to Santa enough we don’t need an elf. Then his school had one and I used the excuse it’s there to watch him since that’s where he doesn’t listen. Lol

I know it would be such a hassle for me and I don’t really care for the tradition. My DS is 9 now so the appeal has been lost.

Re: Elf on the freaking shelf

We just started it this year and my kids love it!! They are almost 6, 4 and 3. THey wake up looking for him. I don't plan on doing any of the elaborate things though just finding places for him to sit or hang is enough for us.
